FOR CALGARY HANDYMEN · PRELAUNCH

How you could get jobs through Handyman HQ.

We are building a place where Calgary customers can ask for small fixes and home care. If you qualify and work is available in your area, the plan is to match you with suitable jobs. No jobs, income or minimum hours are guaranteed.

1. Apply when registration opens

You would tell us what work you can do, where you work and when you are available. We would ask for your identity, experience and any trade qualifications needed for the work you offer. The planned five gates are an appropriate background check, checked references, a supervised trial job, WCB status or clearance, and current insurance for the work. None has been completed through this site. No application form is collecting information here today.

2. Show current coverage before any job

Before taking paid work, you would need your own liability insurance and the applicable WCB-Alberta account or clearance evidence for your situation. We would check expiry dates and the service scope. Coverage requirements and who needs WCB must be confirmed for the actual relationship and work; this page does not decide your legal status. Regulated trades require the right licence, not a general handyman profile.

3. Review a job before accepting

The planned pro view would show the task, location area, time and what you would be paid. You could accept only a job you can safely perform. The proposed app handles the customer quote and approval, so you would not need to bid for jobs. After the visit, you would record the agreed work; a customer would approve a new price before any paid extra work starts.

What would it cost you?

There is no pro registration charge being collected now. The proposed business model includes a platform share within the customer's quoted price, currently illustrated at 20–25% for a one-off job. That share would come from the job price, not be added to the customer's bill. Weekly payouts are a target, not an available payment service. Your actual take-home amount, tax handling, payout timing, insurance costs and final agreement have not been set. We would show those terms before you decide whether to join. Do not buy new coverage or send documents on the basis of this preview.
